The Civic Practice of Being Witnessed
Affirmation verifies contribution; it does not manufacture a person's value. Its task is to preserve truthful civic memory through human acknowledgment, published procedure, and a reviewable record that recognizes intellectual, creative, manual, emotional, and care labor without hierarchy.

Affirmation preserves useful work in civic memory through three independent forms of witness. A person may challenge the evidence, criteria, interpretation, privacy, or process.
Affirmation may verify contribution, but it cannot grant human worth, command labor, create inherited standing, or convert recognition into privilege.
